Happy Things

We all keep hopping from one plan to another, from one thought to another, from one experience to another. And amidst all this hustle bustle there are a few things that make us stop and smile. They keep us going when life weighs heavy on us. They're our safe place.

So I thought why not share some of my delights, my happy things, since the list cannot be generalised. Side note: I almost went on the tangent to intellectualise it; "happiness shouldn't be pursued" and all that jazz. But isn't it something to be felt and not thought?

Well, on with the list then. Here goes:

Movies and Shows
Taking me away from reality and letting me fly with my imagination? Hell yeah! I'm in for that journey. That's exactly what movies, tv shows and web series do to me. They not only in some way help me peep into the world out there but also sets me free to explore something unthinkable or inexperienced. I often find myself quoting from pieces I've watched and I'll be honest, I live by most of the quotes cause why not? Also, that's a whole new topic. I'll talk about it some other day. My favourite genres are cerebral, comedy, mystery, fantasy and sometimes rom-com. I prefer both animation and live-action. They're all love.

Sunflowers
Oh, I cannot even tell you how much I love sunflowers. They're absolutely precious to me, so much that if someone brings me sunflowers, my heart is theirs. I don't know how but they always make me hope and to accept myself, to stand and shine bright even when the world is looking the other way. Trust me, get a sunflower for yourself and if you have then you know what I'm talking about.

Birds
So, we have a huge window in our bedroom where we've placed a couple of birdhouses. Every day little sparrows show up, eat, play around or just sit looking at the world outside. Maybe trying to make some sense out of it like we do. And I kid you not, I could watch them all day long. In fact, as I'm writing this two of those little birdies are eating away and momentarily looking up to see if I'm watching them. Sometimes they hop on the window sill and walk on their tiny feet. It looks like a toddler trying to walk. THEY ARE SO CUTE.

Drawing
A little bit of unexplainable thoughts and a little bit of paint. Mix them together and pour it on the canvas, unrestraint. Generally, I'm a shy person when it comes to expressing. I like to observe, love dearly and then keep it to myself. However, somedays the colours catch up with my thoughts and before I know it, it's all on the canvas. Won't say I'm good or bad at it. It's just one of the things I love doing for the love of it. a·mà·re

Dancing
EUPHORIA. That's precisely what it means to me. Rhythm is the core of our existence, I feel. It's within all of us. I choose to express it through dancing. Again, not saying I'm good or bad at it. I just can't stop my feet when my ears and heart catch a beat. (hey, that rhymed!) I try to learn a bit of different dance forms but eventually I freestyle my way through it.

So yeah, these are a few of my favourite things. I'm sure you also have a list. Believe me you, keep it close to your heart. Yeh zindagi mein aur rakha hi kya hai?
